- People: up to 12, each with an optional budget: paid for the group, their share, balance, budget left
- Expenses: up to 200 payments with date, category, amount and who paid. Leave the shares blank to split equally, or enter shares under the names (1 and 1 = half each; 2, 1, 1 = one person pays double; blank = not included)
- A Check column that flags a missing payer, a payer who isn't on the list, or a split with no one in it
- Settle up: who pays whom and how much (never more than one payment fewer than the number of people), with a Paid? column
- Summary: total, average per person, spending by category, every balance; a chart
- Sample: a 6-person ski weekend, 12 payments, $4,201.92: 5 payments settle everything
Checked, not just designed: all 3,175 formulas recalculate with zero errors; every split, balance and payment was recomputed independently in 3 scenarios per file, and the payments were applied to confirm they bring every balance to $0.
