How it works
Each month, interest is the balance times the APR ÷ 12, rounded to the cent. The minimum is the larger of the floor and a percentage of the balance (plus that month's interest, if your card works that way), so it falls as the balance falls. Keeping the first payment fixed stops that from happening. No new purchases or fees are assumed. Tables: minimum payments vs a fixed payment.
