How it works
Income is what a gig brings in; profit is what is left after the platform takes its fees and you pay for gas, supplies or equipment. Divide by every hour the gig takes and you can compare side hustles fairly. In the example, rideshare brings in the most, $8,678.61, but after $2,169.66 of fees and $1,514.26 of gas it pays $13.97 an hour over 357.6 hours. Tutoring pays $45.00 and photography $68.98 an hour, with a fraction of the income. Across all four gigs: $11,359.93 of profit over 503.6 hours, $22.56 an hour, and $2,839.98 set aside at 25%. The side hustle tracker keeps a dated log for the year, month by month and by expense category.
