Increasing: the base amount × 1, 2, 3 …; decreasing: the same in reverse; same amount: the base every time. 52-week: $1 to $52 weekly ($1,378). 100-envelope: $1 to $100 ($5,050), one envelope a day in any order. 26-paycheck: $5 to $130 every two weeks ($1,755). The spreadsheet adds tick-off tracking and whether you're ahead or behind.

How it works

A savings challenge sets a deposit for each week, envelope or paycheck. In the 52-week challenge you save $1 in week 1, $2 in week 2 and so on up to $52: 1 + 2 + … + 52 = $1,378. The 100-envelope challenge fills envelopes marked $1 to $100 in any order, $5,050 in all. Multiply any challenge to fit your budget: at ×5 the 52-week challenge saves $6,890. The calculator lists every deposit with its date from your start date.
